Joseph Mengele
Joseph Mengele was a German physician during World War II who performed medical experiments on Holocaust victims to test theories and attempt to make new discoveries. The concentration camp Auschwitz was his ultimate human laboratory because it supplied him with an unlimited supply of humans to operate on. His subjects were mainly Jews and Gypsies. He used both men and women, and people of all ages. Joseph Mengele had a special interest in twins and people's eyes. His disturbing and deadly experiments have earned him the nickname "Angel of Death". His actions characterize life at concentrarion camps for the prisoners and the cruelty of the Nazis.
